Cup of tea…??

Keith’s stove is being a complete success – well we are sure it will be when we learn how to use it properly.

We stopped the car to have a pee-pee (Anil’s term for ‘taking toilet’) and Donny decided that we should christen the paraffin stove. Apart from needing an IQ far superior to that available, it was some time before we understood the essentials. In that time a burgeoning crowd of curious natives had assembled – emerging from fields and behind bushes and from camel carts and buses and old lady who straddled her gate in a bid to get a front seat. Anil was frustrated at the progress, and his loss of face with his fellow countrymen, and took control of ‘his’ matches and the lighting process. 35 minutes and half a box of matches the water was simmering nicely and we all enjoyed a nice ‘cuppa’. Well except for Anil who spat it out because we had no sugar. Nevertheless he is standing tall in his new status of ‘chai wallah’.

Anil got sugar and biscuits in the next village so tomorrow’s teabreak will be more efficient and enjoyable. We’re looking forward to ‘taking tiffin’ in full splendour and amongst our inquisitive public.
