We understand that being a graduate of the University of Cambridge, and having successfully represented the cricket first team, is very highly rated in India so we want to state clearly our Cambridge credentials at the outset:1. We think we once went to see Carlisle United playing away at Cambridge
2. I once owned a Sinclair Type 3 Cambridge Calculator
3. A friend owns the intellectual property rights for Cambridge Blue (cheese)
4. Visited the Cambridge Folk Festival when Billy Connolly told his 'indian curry' story in the early 1980's
5. Had a tape of Spike Milligan and Jeremy Taylor Live at Cambridge University 1973 but had it stolen from my car in Barcelona in 1985.
6. And, if all of that isn't enough, we are both old enough to have heard Harry Carpenter say on BBCTV in 1977 "Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the Cambridge president is kissing the cox of the Oxford crew". And,to prove it, here's a photo of the crew just before the 'cox kissing' incident took place...
So we think that's all pretty conclusive and we should be welcomed on the promenades of Shimla with open arms. They'll be able to spot imposters so we shouldn't have any trouble there.....Billo
